Era of endless court battles over, says INEC chairman Amupitan
The new Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Prof. Joash Amupitan, has declared that the era of prolonged court battles after elections in Nigeria is over.
Amupitan made this known while addressing journalists shortly after assuming office in Abuja. He promised that under his leadership, INEC would strengthen internal processes to ensure credible, transparent, and widely accepted elections across the country.
He added that the commission would enhance collaboration with political parties, security agencies, and civil society groups to restore public confidence in Nigeria’s electoral system.
“Our goal is to make elections so transparent and credible that the results will speak for themselves, leaving no room for endless litigations,” Amupitan said.
