Edo Governor Hails Oba of Benin’s Impactful Leadership

Edo State Governor, Monday Okpebholo, has congratulated the Oba of Benin, Ewuare II, on his birthday and ninth coronation anniversary.

In a statement issued on Monday in Benin by his Chief Press Secretary, Fred Itua, the governor praised the monarch’s unwavering commitment to preserving the cultural heritage of the Edo people and his impactful leadership since ascending the throne.

Okpebholo described Oba Ewuare II as a visionary ruler whose reign has brought peace, development, and unity to the Benin Kingdom and Edo State.

“On behalf of the government and good people of Edo, I convey my regards and prayers to our father, His Royal Majesty, Oba Ewuare II, on his birthday and ninth coronation anniversary,” the statement read.

He commended the monarch’s efforts in promoting peace, combating societal ills, and fostering harmony among residents of the state, describing the Oba as “a moral and cultural compass” for the administration’s New Edo agenda.

The governor prayed for the Oba’s continued health, wisdom, and long life, pledging his respect and cooperation with the Benin Royal Palace to ensure a prosperous future for all Edo residents
