The Dangote Refinery has disputed reports claiming it received seven crude oil cargoes from the Nigerian National Petroleum Company (NNPC) for the month of May, stating that its actual allocation is lower than what has been reported.
Officials of the refinery clarified that the figures circulating in some reports do not accurately reflect the volume of crude supplied to the facility, raising concerns about misinformation regarding its operations.
According to the company, consistent and adequate crude supply remains a critical factor for achieving optimal production capacity and meeting domestic fuel demand.
The clarification comes amid ongoing discussions about crude allocation, local refining capacity and fuel pricing in Nigeria. Industry stakeholders have continued to emphasise the importance of transparency and accurate data in assessing the performance of the downstream sector.
Analysts say discrepancies in reported supply figures could influence public perception and policy discussions around energy security and refining efficiency.
The refinery reiterated its commitment to working with relevant stakeholders to ensure stable crude supply and improved output in the long term.
