Chelsea Will Be a Different Force Next Season – Colwill Warns Rivals
Chelsea defender Levi Colwill has issued a bold warning to the club’s rivals ahead of the upcoming 2025/26 season, saying the Blues are fully prepared to challenge for both the Premier League and Champions League titles.
Speaking after Chelsea’s emphatic 3-0 victory over Paris Saint-Germain in the final of the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup, Colwill expressed confidence in the team’s progress under manager Enzo Maresca. The win marked Chelsea’s first triumph in the newly revamped tournament held in the United States.
Colwill, who played five matches during the competition, told the BBC:
> “I said at the start of this tournament that our plan was to win it and people looked at me as if I was crazy. So I’m going to say the exact same thing now going into the Premier League and Champions League. I think we’re ready and we’ll see next season.”
With their Club World Cup victory, Chelsea has sent a strong message to their European and domestic rivals. Colwill insists it will be a “different ball game” when the new season kicks off.
