BREAKING: POLICE RESCUE ADELABU’S SISTER, TWIN SONS; TWO SUSPECTED KIDNAPPERS KILLED IN GUN BATTLE
Operatives of the Nigeria Police Force have successfully rescued Mrs. Olaide Busayo Adegoke John-Paul, the younger sister of former Minister of Power and Oyo APC governorship aspirant, Chief Adebayo Adelabu, along with her 12-year-old twin sons, Peter and Paul.
The victims were rescued alive on Saturday evening, three days after they were abducted by gunmen while on their way to school in Ibadan, Oyo State.
Security sources disclosed that the rescue operation followed intensive intelligence gathering and coordinated tactical operations by security personnel, who tracked the kidnappers to their hideout.
During the operation, police operatives engaged the suspects in a fierce gun battle, resulting in the death of two suspected kidnappers. Two firearms were also recovered from the gang.
According to security sources, pressure mounted by law enforcement operatives forced the kidnappers into a confrontation, paving the way for the safe rescue of the victims without injury.
Authorities have launched a manhunt for other members of the kidnapping syndicate who escaped during the operation. Some of the fleeing suspects are believed to have sustained gunshot wounds.
The successful rescue brings relief to the Adelabu family and ends days of anxiety following the abduction, which sparked widespread concern across Oyo State and beyond.
