Borno Leads in Voter Online Pre-Registrations — INEC

Borno State has recorded the highest number of online voter pre-registrations nationwide, according to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
As of Week Nine of the Continuous Voter Registration exercise, 8,003,196 Nigerians had completed the online pre-registration process, with Borno accounting for 826,130 — the highest figure among all 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory.
Osun followed with 646,580 registrations, Lagos with 604,819, and Kebbi with 581,135. Other states with high figures include Kaduna (510,490), Ogun (510,062), and Kano (421,941).
At the lower end, Enugu recorded 25,541, Ondo 17,618, Ebonyi 13,979, Edo 11,570, and Abia 11,221 — the lowest in the country.
INEC also announced that 1,710,450 voters have completed their registration nationwide as of Week Eight, combining 956,566 online and 753,884 physical registrations.
Registration in Anambra remains suspended until after the November 8 governorship election, in line with Section 9(6) of the Electoral Act, 2022.
INEC attributed the surge in Borno and other northern states to increased mobilisation by community groups, religious leaders, and local officials encouraging eligible residents to register.
