Borno Attack: Tinubu Orders Security Agencies to Intensify Surveillance
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has directed Nigeria’s security agencies to intensify surveillance and strengthen operations following the recent terrorist attack in Maiduguri, Maiduguri, the Borno State capital.
Vice-President Kashim Shettima disclosed that the Federal Government has deployed additional tactical teams to the affected area, with clear instructions to track down and apprehend those responsible for the attack. He said the move is part of a broader security response aimed at preventing further incidents and restoring public confidence.
According to Shettima, the President has also ordered enhanced intelligence gathering, tighter monitoring of vulnerable locations, and closer coordination among security agencies operating in the North-East. He reassured residents that the government remains fully committed to defeating terrorism and ensuring the safety of lives and property.
“The Federal Government will not relent until those behind this attack are brought to justice,” the Vice-President said, adding that security forces have been placed on high alert across the region.
Authorities have urged residents to remain vigilant and to promptly report suspicious activities to security operatives as investigations and operations continue.
