Benue Killings Are Genocide, Not Clashes – Tor Tiv Tells Tinubu

The Tor Tiv V, James Ayatse, has told President Bola Tinubu that the ongoing killings in Benue State are not mere herder-farmer clashes, but a deliberate and organized attack aimed at land grabbing and ethnic cleansing.
During a stakeholders’ meeting with the President in Benue, the traditional ruler strongly condemned what he called a “misrepresentation” of the crisis. He stated that the conflict has been wrongly described as communal or reprisal attacks, when in fact it is a “calculated, well-planned genocidal invasion” by terrorist herders and bandits.
> “Wrong diagnosis leads to wrong treatment,” Ayatse warned, urging the Federal Government to stop downplaying the crisis and address it for what it truly is: a war being waged against Benue communities.
