Bauchi unveils N200m relief package for windstorm victims

Bauchi State Governor, Bala Mohammed, has announced a N200 million intervention fund to assist communities affected by a recent devastating windstorm.
The governor made the announcement on Sunday during a sympathy visit to Dass Local Government Area, which was among the hardest hit. Mohammed noted that the windstorm caused extensive damage to homes, public buildings, and farmlands in communities including Durr, Wandi, Bagel Bundot, and Dass town.
During his visit, he met with the Emir of Dass at his palace, expressing deep sorrow over the losses suffered by residents. The governor also directed emergency response teams to speed up relief efforts to help victims recover quickly.
“As part of immediate intervention, we will release the sum of N100 million support to the affected communities,” Mohammed stated.
