Grammy-nominated Nigerian singer, Ayra Starr, has shared how making her acting debut in the upcoming American fantasy film, Children of Blood and Bone, deepened her respect for actors.

In an interview with CBS, Starr described the experience as both humbling and demanding, explaining that unlike music, acting required strict discipline and punctuality.

> “It [Children of Blood and Bone] is my first movie ever. I’m used to being a singer and diva on set, but with the movie it’s not about you. You have to be on set on time,” she said. “So, it made me get used to military time and working hard. I respect actors so much more now. Their stamina is impeccable.”

Starr also revealed that acting had always been a passion alongside music, though she had been shy about it until now.

> “This is the first time in my life that I’ve been on camera and I’m not singing. It was amazing. I learned so much from everyone, not just the greats,” she added.
