Ayra Starr: “I’m My Favourite Artist’s Favourite Artist”
Nigerian music sensation Ayra Starr has shared her excitement about meeting her musical idol, Rihanna, and discovering that the global superstar is a fan of her work.
Speaking in a recent interview with ETalk TV, Ayra Starr described Rihanna as “an amazing person and someone to look up to.”
Reflecting on their meeting, she said:
> “It still feels like a dream. I love her so much. People always say ‘never meet your idols,’ but I’m so glad I met mine because she’s just incredible.”
Ayra revealed that what touched her most was realizing that she is her idol’s favourite artist.
> “The fact that she loves my music… I’m my favourite artist’s favourite artist.”
She praised Rihanna as an inspiring woman and role model, adding:
> “When I’m around her, I get so nervous I start making unnecessary jokes.”
Ayra Starr also expressed hopes of collaborating with Rihanna in the future.
