A chieftain of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) has commended Anambra State Governor, Charles Soludo, for his intervention in the recent traditional stool dispute in Awka Kingdom, describing the move as timely and decisive.

The party leader noted that the governor’s involvement helped to calm tensions among stakeholders and prevented the disagreement from escalating into a wider crisis that could have disrupted peace in the community.

According to him, traditional institutions play a crucial role in maintaining social harmony and cultural stability, making it important for government authorities to act swiftly whenever disputes threaten unity within local communities.

He further stated that the resolution efforts demonstrated the administration’s commitment to dialogue, inclusiveness and respect for established customs and traditions.

Observers say traditional leadership conflicts, if not properly managed, can affect governance and development at the grassroots level, highlighting the need for continued engagement between government officials and community leaders.

The APGA chieftain also urged residents to support initiatives aimed at promoting peaceful coexistence and strengthening collaboration between traditional rulers and state authorities.
