APC leaders caution against Aiyedatiwa re-election distraction
Leaders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ondo State have urged political stakeholders to avoid actions that could distract Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa from governance, particularly amid legal disputes linked to his potential re-election bid.
The party leaders, in separate remarks, commended the governor’s performance since assuming office, noting that his administration has focused on consolidating development efforts and maintaining stability in the state.
They expressed concern that ongoing court cases and political disagreements surrounding the next election cycle could divert attention from critical governance responsibilities. According to them, unnecessary distractions may slow the pace of policy implementation and development projects currently underway.
The APC stakeholders called on party members and opposition figures to prioritise the overall interest of the state, stressing the importance of unity and cooperation in sustaining progress.
They also emphasised the need for political actors to respect due process and allow legal matters to run their course without escalating tensions. The leaders maintained that constructive engagement and adherence to democratic principles would help create a conducive environment for governance.
Meanwhile, political observers say the situation reflects the growing intensity of pre-election activities in the state, with parties positioning themselves ahead of future contests.
Despite the developments, the governor’s supporters have reiterated confidence in his leadership, urging residents to remain focused on ongoing initiatives aimed at improving infrastructure, economic opportunities and public welfare across Ondo State.
