The Lagos State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has accused the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) of focusing on propaganda instead of addressing the economic and social challenges confronting residents.

In a statement issued by party officials, the PDP alleged that the APC-led administration in the state had failed to adequately respond to rising living costs, transportation difficulties and infrastructure concerns affecting many Lagosians. The opposition party argued that government spokespersons were more concerned with public relations campaigns than with implementing practical solutions to ease the burden on citizens.

According to the PDP, persistent issues such as traffic congestion, flooding in some communities, and the impact of recent economic reforms have continued to strain households and small businesses. The party called on the state government to prioritise policies that would directly improve welfare and stimulate economic opportunities.

However, APC representatives have maintained that the government remains committed to development initiatives across key sectors including road construction, public transportation, environmental management and job creation. They insist that ongoing projects and reforms will deliver long-term benefits for residents.

Political observers say the exchange of criticisms reflects growing political tension ahead of future elections, as parties seek to strengthen their positions and win public support.

Meanwhile, civil society groups have urged both parties to focus on constructive dialogue and policy-driven engagement, emphasising the need for collaborative efforts to address urban challenges in Nigeria’s commercial capital.
