Anambra PDP Governorship Candidate Ezenwafor Survives Assassination Attempt

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship candidate for the upcoming Anambra State election, Jude Ezenwafor, has narrowly escaped an assassination attempt.

Ezenwafor was shot by unidentified gunmen on Friday night in the Wuse 2 area of Abuja, while returning home from an appointment. He is currently receiving medical treatment at a private hospital in Abuja, where doctors are preparing to perform surgery to remove bullets from his body.

Speaking from his hospital bed on Saturday morning, Ezenwafor described the attack as a near-death experience.

> “I’m currently in the hospital. The doctors are making efforts to operate on me so they can pull out bullets from my body,” he said in a pained tone.

Two other individuals who were with him during the attack were also shot and injured. Details about their conditions are still unclear.

Authorities are yet to issue an official statement on the incident, and no group has claimed responsibility for the attack.
