Allegri Warns Chukwueze, Milan Squad to Stay Mentally Focused Ahead of New Season

AC Milan manager, Massimiliano Allegri, has urged his players — including Nigerian winger Samuel Chukwueze — to maintain mental balance as they prepare for the upcoming Serie A season.
This caution came after Milan wrapped up their pre-season tour with a commanding 9-0 victory over Perth Glory, where Chukwueze was among the scorers. Other goals came from Filippo Terracciano, Christian Comotto, Samuele Ricci, Yunus Musah, with Noah Okafor and Rafael Leão both netting braces.
Chukwueze’s goal was his first in nearly five months, signaling a potential return to form. The 26-year-old had only featured for 27 minutes in Milan’s earlier 4-2 win over Liverpool in Hong Kong but was given a starting spot against Perth and delivered a solid performance.
> “We had 25 days of good training work and some strong performances in these friendlies,” Allegri told Milan TV.
“When we return to Italy on August 5, that’s when the real season begins. Everything changes. The key is to stay enthusiastic and mentally balanced.”
Allegri stressed the importance of consistency and warned against complacency or emotional lows, regardless of recent success.
AC Milan’s pre-season campaign saw mixed results, including a 1-0 loss to Arsenal, a 3-2 win over Liverpool, and the emphatic 9-0 win to close their tour of Asia and Australia.
