Akwa Ibom State Governor, Umo Eno, has warned political associates and close allies against lobbying for positions in the ongoing civil service recruitment exercise, stressing that only merit will determine who gets employed.

Speaking during the Monthly Prayer Service at Latter House Chapel, Government House, Uyo, on Saturday, the governor explained that the recruitment process would be strictly computer-based to ensure fairness and transparency.

According to him, about 15,000 applicants have applied for the exercise, but only 3,000 candidates will be recruited. He noted that the use of a computer-based test will allow applicants to know their results instantly, eliminating manipulations.

“Please don’t bother sending me messages for slots; it will not work. For once, we will do this process strictly on merit. If you cannot operate a computer, then don’t apply,” he said.
