Ondo State Governor, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, has dismissed all political aides in the state, including Senior Special Assistants (SSAs) and Special Assistants (SAs), as part of a major restructuring of his administration.

The governor also announced plans to appoint about 1,000 new aides across the state, a move aimed at expanding political participation and strengthening grassroots engagement.

According to officials, the decision is part of efforts to reposition the government for improved efficiency and inclusiveness, ensuring broader representation across communities and interest groups.

Sources within the government indicated that the new appointments will reflect diverse demographics, including youth and women, in line with the administration’s agenda to deepen governance at the grassroots level.

Observers say the large-scale reshuffle could have significant political implications, particularly as preparations gradually intensify ahead of future elections.

While some stakeholders have welcomed the move as an opportunity for wider inclusion, others have raised concerns about the cost implications and the need to ensure merit-based appointments.

The governor reaffirmed his commitment to delivering effective governance, stating that the restructuring is designed to align his administration with the evolving needs of the people of Ondo State.
