Aiyedatiwa launches drive for 203,000 new APC members in Ondo

Ondo State Governor, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, has announced plans to recruit at least 203,000 new members into the All Progressives Congress ahead of the 2027 elections.

Speaking at an APC stakeholders’ meeting in Akure, Aiyedatiwa said the initiative aligns with President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope programme, targeting 1,000 fresh members in each of the state’s 203 wards.

“This is our party, and it is our collective responsibility to make it stronger,” the governor said, urging members to promote unity, mobilisation, and regular engagement at the grassroots.

He also highlighted his administration’s development agenda, disclosing plans for a cement factory, fertiliser plant, and petrochemical industry, as well as the takeover of key federal roads, including Ikare-Akoko, Idanre-Akure, and Okitipupa-Igbokoda corridors.

Earlier, the state APC chairman, Ade Adetimehin, praised Aiyedatiwa for sustaining consistent dialogue with party stakeholders and urged members to consolidate the party’s base across wards.
