Over three decades after their historic triumph, the Federal Government has finally honored its long-standing promise to the 1994 Super Eagles squad, allocating houses to the team members who brought glory to Nigeria by winning the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Tunisia.

The announcement was made in a statement released on the official website of the Federal Ministry of Housing and Urban Development on Wednesday.

One of the beneficiaries, former Super Eagles striker Efan Ekoku, received his housing allocation letter for a property in Abuja. He was represented at the brief ceremony by his niece, Lisa Jenifer Nwagbogun.

The letter was formally presented by Pemi Temitope, Director and Head of the Department of Public Building and Housing Development, on behalf of the Minister of Housing and Urban Development.

Temitope noted that the initiative reflects the government’s enduring commitment to recognizing patriotic service, stating that the 1994 squad’s achievements remain a proud chapter in the nation’s sports history.

In her remarks, Nwagbogun expressed heartfelt appreciation:

> “I am deeply grateful to the Federal Government and the Ministry of Housing for fulfilling this long-standing pledge to my uncle. It is truly heartening to witness such commitment to integrity and follow-through.”
