Founder of AALD Company, Dr. Akin Akinpelu, has said that Africa’s future growth and global competitiveness depend more on execution and less on the formulation of strategies.

Speaking at a leadership and development forum, Dr. Akinpelu noted that African nations often create ambitious blueprints, policies, and strategic documents but fail when it comes to putting those plans into practice.

> “Strategy without execution is wishful thinking. What Africa needs is consistent, deliberate action that translates policies into visible progress,” he said.

According to him, many African countries spend significant resources on preparing development agendas and masterplans, yet little changes in the daily lives of citizens because of poor follow-through.

Dr. Akinpelu emphasized that leadership across the continent must shift from rhetoric to responsibility, ensuring that projects are not only launched but also completed to impact communities.

He added that effective governance requires accountability, transparency, and the political will to turn ideas into tangible results.

“Every nation has dreams, but only those that act with discipline and urgency rise to greatness. Africa has the human and natural resources to compete globally; what is missing is the courage to act,” he stressed.

The AALD boss urged African leaders to prioritize capacity building, youth empowerment, and technology adoption as practical steps toward sustainable development.

He further advised citizens to hold governments accountable and demand results rather than promises.
