APC JEALOUS OF ME BECAUSE THEY CAN’T DANCE — ADELEKE
Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke has dismissed criticism of his dancing, saying his hobby does not affect his ability to govern the state.
Adeleke made the statement during the Arise Town Hall meeting for governorship candidates ahead of Saturday’s Osun State election, while responding to questions about his frequent public displays of dancing and whether they had affected his administration.
The governor said there is a time for work and a time for recreation, insisting that his dancing should not be interpreted as a lack of seriousness in office.
According to Adeleke, he remains a serious and prudent administrator despite his public personality and love for dancing.
He said his critics in the All Progressives Congress (APC) were only attacking his dancing because they could not dance like him.
Adeleke stated that nobody could stop him from dancing, adding that he could even teach his critics how to dance if they were interested.
The governor also defended his performance in office, urging voters to judge him based on his administration’s achievements rather than his personal hobby.
Adeleke, who is seeking re-election, also criticised his predecessor, Gboyega Oyetola, claiming that the former governor had not recovered from his defeat in the previous election.
He further accused Oyetola of contributing to political problems in the state, while maintaining that his administration remained focused on delivering development to the people of Osun.
The governor’s comments come as campaigns intensify ahead of the August 15 governorship election, with candidates and political parties stepping up efforts to win the support of voters across the state.
Adeleke maintained that dancing remains a personal hobby and does not interfere with his responsibilities as governor.
