The Abia State Government has warned leaders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) to stop what it described as deliberate attempts to create bad blood between Governor Alex Otti and President Bola Tinubu for political advantage ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The state government, in a strongly worded statement, accused some APC bigwigs of peddling false narratives and sponsoring propaganda aimed at portraying a non-existent rift between Otti and Tinubu.
According to the Abia government, Governor Otti has maintained a relationship of mutual respect and cooperation with the Federal Government, stressing that governance—not political rivalry—remains his priority.
“There is no feud between Governor Alex Otti and President Bola Tinubu. Any attempt to force enmity between them is a calculated political mischief that should stop immediately,” the statement said.
The government noted that such actions were capable of distracting from governance and development efforts in Abia State, warning that the administration would not be drawn into needless political battles.
It added that Abia remains focused on rebuilding infrastructure, improving public services, and partnering with the Federal Government where necessary for the benefit of residents.
The statement further urged politicians to play politics responsibly and allow leaders at both state and federal levels to work together in the national interest.
