The Ekiti State Government has awarded contracts worth โ‚ฆ458 million to a company allegedly linked to an
Investigations reveal that the contracts, approved in batches over recent months, were awarded to a firm said to have operational and beneficial ties to the governorโ€™s aide, Adebimpe. Documents reviewed indicate that the projects cut across supplies and service provisions to key ministries and agencies of the state government.

Sources familiar with the procurement process told our correspondent that the firm emerged as a successful bidder in multiple contract lots, with cumulative values amounting to โ‚ฆ458 million. The awards, they said, were processed through standard procurement channels, but concerns persist over the firmโ€™s alleged links to a serving political appointee.

Checks at the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) reportedly show overlaps between individuals connected to the company and associates of the Senior Special Assistant, fuelling allegations of insider advantage. Critics argue that such links, if proven, could violate public service rules and procurement guidelines designed to prevent conflicts of interest.

A civil society group monitoring governance in Ekiti State described the development as โ€œdeeply troubling,โ€ urging the government to publish full procurement details and clarify the ownership structure of the company involved.

โ€œThis is about public trust. Any perception that public funds are being channelled to firms linked to government officials undermines confidence in governance,โ€ the group said in a statement.
