The Jigawa State Government has restated its commitment to improving the lives of women, children, and other vulnerable groups through collaborative efforts with individuals and donor organisations.

Commissioner for Women Affairs and Social Development, Hadiza Abdulwahab, made this known on Friday during a meeting with members of the Society for Women Development and Empowerment in Nigeria (SWODEN) in Dutse, the state capital.

She said the government remains open to partnerships that align with its mission of empowering disadvantaged groups, particularly women in rural communities.

> “Jigawa State government is ever ready for collaboration with individuals and philanthropic organisations toward supporting our vulnerable women across the state,” Abdulwahab stated.

The commissioner urged SWODEN to ensure transparency and fairness in selecting beneficiaries for their empowerment programmes, stressing the importance of extending such initiatives to all parts of the state.

She also assured the organisation of the government’s readiness to collaborate in order to make meaningful impact, while appealing for broader coverage of empowerment and education initiatives.

On his part, Adam Muhammad, SWODEN’s Team Leader in Jigawa, said the group visited the ministry to introduce its objectives and seek government’s cooperation. He explained that SWODEN aims to empower women with vocational skills and provide educational support for children, starting with Birnin Kudu Local Government Area.
