Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has inaugurated a leather processing and manufacturing hub in Mushin, designed to generate 10,000 direct jobs and strengthen the state’s role as West Africa’s leather logistics capital.

The project, named after the First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, was launched on Saturday during her three-day official visit to Lagos.

In a statement signed by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Gboyega Akosile, the governor explained that the facility is equipped with modern industrial machines capable of mass-producing shoes, bags, belts, packaging materials, and other leather products.

He added that the hub would ease the burden on nano, small, and medium-scale enterprises that often struggle to meet large orders due to inadequate equipment and capacity.

While commissioning the hub, Mrs. Tinubu described it as a trailblazing initiative that further cements Lagos State’s reputation as the heartbeat of innovation and enterprise in Nigeria.
