COZA’s Fatoyinbo Apologises to CAC Over Babalola Comment
Pastor Biodun Fatoyinbo of the Commonwealth of Zion Assembly has apologised to the Christ Apostolic Church following backlash over remarks about the late Apostle Joseph Ayo Babalola, CAC’s first General Evangelist.
In a viral sermon clip, Fatoyinbo praised Babalola’s anointing but suggested his ministry lost momentum because he “had no money.” The CAC, in a statement signed by Pastor Ade Alawode, criticised the comment for implying a link between ministerial success and wealth.
Fatoyinbo clarified that he never spoke negatively about Babalola’s children and reiterated his respect for the evangelist’s legacy. He prayed for the continued growth of Babalola’s influence and apologised for any hurt caused to the CAC, Babalola’s family, or associates.
