Bauchi State Governor, Bala Mohammed, has accused the Federal Government of discriminating against states led by opposition parties.

The governor raised this concern during the opening of the State Executive Council meeting at the Government House in Bauchi. He alleged that Bauchi State has been unfairly excluded from the distribution of financial interventions and grants.

“The Federal Government has a lot of bias against states governed by opposition parties. Some states are receiving preferential treatment,” Governor Mohammed stated.

He urged the Federal Government to adopt a fair, non-partisan approach when handling national interventions, emphasizing that no state should be rewarded or punished based on political affiliation.

Amid rising financial pressures, the governor also cautioned cabinet members against unnecessary trips to Abuja or abroad, stressing the need to reduce government spending.

“We must prudently manage our scarce resources. The financial pressure is high, and we can’t afford wasteful spending,” he warned.
