Iyanya: “We’ll Separate Quacks from Real Artists”

Nigerian singer Iyanya Onoyom Mbuk, popularly known as Iyanya, has expressed confidence that truly talented musicians will eventually stand out from the less skilled ones in the industry.

Taking to his X (formerly Twitter) handle, the Kukere hitmaker wrote:

Iyanya’s comment comes amid growing criticism of mediocrity in the Nigerian music scene. Concerns include excessive reliance on auto-tune, ghostwriters, and the alleged manipulation of streaming numbers to inflate an artist’s popularity.

Artists like Blaqbonez and Odumodublvck have also spoken out about the widespread use of streaming farms, which artificially boost streaming statistics, further fueling debates about authenticity and real talent in the industry.
