Africa’s richest man, Aliko Dangote, has written an open letter to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, commending his leadership and vision, particularly in transforming Lagos State’s coastline and expanding Nigeria’s infrastructure.

In the letter (shared by presidential spokesperson Bayo Onanuga), Dangote highlighted several key points:

✅ Bar Beach Land Reclamation & Eko Atlantic City

Praised Tinubu’s foresight in reclaiming land at Victoria Island, Lagos, starting in 2008.

Credited the project with turning a flood-prone coastline into a thriving modern district for business, residential, and leisure use.

Noted the 8.5 km sea wall protecting Victoria Island from erosion.

✅ Flood control & infrastructure improvements

Appreciated Tinubu’s efforts in addressing flooding on major streets such as Ahmadu Bello Way, Bishop Oluwole Street, and others.

Commended the launch of the Lagos-Calabar coastal highway and Sokoto-Badagry superhighway, describing them as transformative national projects connecting Nigeria’s six geopolitical zones.

✅ Comparative insight

Drew parallels between Tinubu’s land reclamation initiative and similar flood control and land reclamation efforts in Zeeland, Netherlands, highlighting it as an example of visionary and resilient leadership.

Dangote concluded by describing these projects as part of Tinubu’s enduring legacy, significantly improving the quality of life and economic potential of affected areas.
