Ekiti 2026: PDP’s Fayose criticises Governor Oyebanji, vows to defeat him

Emmanuel Fayose, a governorship aspirant under the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Ekiti State, has strongly criticised the performance of Governor Biodun Oyebanji, promising to unseat him in the upcoming 2026 governorship election.
Speaking on Saturday during his familiarisation tour of Ado Ekiti and Irepodun/Ifelodun Local Government Areas, Fayose accused Governor Oyebanji, who is of the All Progressives Congress (APC), of focusing state resources on securing second-term endorsements rather than addressing the challenges facing residents.
Fayose said Ekiti people should ask what the governor has achieved with the state’s monthly federal allocations, which he claimed had significantly increased compared to previous administrations.
> “The question Ekiti people should continue to ask Oyebanji is – what has he been doing with the monthly allocation coming to the state? This government has not done well at all. It has performed below expectations,” Fayose stated.
