The United States Department of State has issued an urgent travel advisory calling on American citizens to immediately depart more than a dozen countries in the Middle East amid intensifying conflict and serious safety risks stemming from ongoing US-Israeli strikes against Iran.
In a statement, Assistant Secretary of State for Consular Affairs Mora Namdar said Americans abroad should “DEPART NOW” using available commercial transportation, warning that the security situation across the region has deteriorated rapidly and could further disrupt travel and safety.
The advisory applies to nationals in the following countries and territories: Bahrain, Egypt, Iran, Iraq, Israel, the West Bank and Gaza, Jordan, Kuwait, Lebanon, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Syria, the United Arab Emirates, and Yemen.
The warning reflects a sharp escalation in hostilities after recent military strikes involving the United States, Israel and Iran, which have triggered retaliatory drone and missile attacks across several nations — including strikes near US diplomatic missions.
The State Department has also activated a 24/7 task force and consular support lines to assist Americans trying to leave the region, and it continues to update advisories as conditions evolve.
