Radda appoints new heads for Katsina agencies

Katsina State Governor, Dikko Umaru Radda, has approved the appointment of new officials to head key state agencies, including the Road Maintenance Agency and the Enterprise Development Agency.

 

The announcement was contained in a statement issued by the governor’s Chief Press Secretary, Ibrahim Mohamed, and made available to journalists on Friday night.

 

According to the statement, Abba Junaidu has been appointed Chairman of the Katsina State Road Maintenance Agency. Junaidu previously served as Chief Building Officer, Assistant Project Manager at the Ministry of Education, and Principal Civil Engineer at the Ministry of Works.

 

Similarly, Dr. Babangida Ruma was named Director General of the Katsina State Enterprise Development Agency. Ruma, a technologist and entrepreneur, had earlier worked as Technical Assistant to the Governor on Enterprise Development. He is recognised by UNESCO’s Institute for Information Technologies in Education as the “Father of Technology and Innovation” for his contributions to using technology for development.

 

In addition, Idris Usman Tune was appointed Chairman of the Civil Service Commission. Tune, who holds a B.Sc in Political Science and a Master’s in Public Policy and Administration, was Katsina State’s Head of Service until May 2023.

 

Governor Radda also inaugurated the Katsina State Pension Bureau, with Ibrahim Boyi Dutsinma as Part-Time Chairman, Musa Rabiu Mahuta as Executive Director (Finance and Administration), Abbati Ibrahim Masanawa as Executive Director (Operations), Usman Shehu as Executive Director (ICT and Database Management), and Dr. Faruk Aminu as Independent Observer.

 

The Katsina State and Local Government Pension Transition Board will be led by Hon. Muntari Dan Ammani as Executive Secretary, with Garba Sanda Mani as Part-Time Chairman. Dr. Faruk Aminu will also serve as Independent Observer, alongside representatives from ministries, departments, and unions.

 

Governor Radda urged the appointees to focus on effective service delivery in line with his administration’s “Building Your Future” agenda. The appointments take immediate effect.
