Tinubu Approves Lifetime Salary for Retiring Senior Officers – Interior Minister
The Minister of Interior, Dr. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, has revealed that senior officers retiring from the rank of Deputy Controller, Comptroller, or Commandant-General and above will now receive lifetime salary benefits.
According to Tunji-Ojo, the new welfare policy was approved by President Bola Tinubu as part of efforts to improve the well-being of officers serving under the Ministry of Interior.
He made the announcement on Thursday during the 2025 Ministerial Retreat, where he also highlighted some of the ministry’s achievements and reaffirmed its focus on strengthening performance across all agencies.
A statement issued by the Federal Fire Service’s Head of Corporate Services, DCF PO Abraham, confirmed the development, noting that the minister expressed gratitude to President Tinubu for his continuous support.
“The minister expressed profound appreciation to President Tinubu for his unwavering support, affirming that all agencies under the Ministry of Interior are already benefiting from the Renewed Hope Agenda,” the statement read.
