The Delta State chapter of the Inter-Party Advisory Council (IPAC) has criticised the “One Million Man March” organised in support of Senator Ovie Omo-Agege, describing it as unlawful and a threat to peace.

Speaking to journalists in Asaba on Tuesday, IPAC Chairman Henry Eze said the rally, which took place on Monday, August 25, 2025, was characterised by intimidation, threats, and inflammatory remarks that violated both the Electoral Act and the IPAC Code of Conduct.

According to him, videos circulating online showed participants allegedly inciting violence, which he warned could destabilise the state’s political environment.

“The march clearly promoted violence, which is unacceptable and against democratic principles. Delta State already has a sitting governor, and until campaigns officially begin, all politicians must respect the peace and stability of the state,” Eze said.

He further accused Omo-Agege’s supporters of “desperation and hunger for power” capable of disrupting the current peace in Delta.

Eze also faulted the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and security agencies for remaining silent, warning that their inaction could encourage political lawlessness.

He urged President Bola Tinubu, INEC, and security authorities to call Omo-Agege and his supporters to order to avoid a breakdown of law and order.

Reaffirming its commitment to peace and political harmony, IPAC said it would continue monitoring political activities ahead of the 2027 elections to ensure all actors respect democratic norms.
