Govt Urges Lagos Youths to Key into Empowerment Initiatives

The Lagos State Commissioner for Youth and Social Development, Mobolaji Ogunlende, has called on young people across the state to take full advantage of government programmes designed to equip them with skills and opportunities for a better future.

Ogunlende made this appeal during a one-day mentorship programme tagged “Mentorship with HOA”, organised by the Igbogbo Baiyeku Local Council Development Area (LCDA) in Ikorodu, Lagos, to mark the 2025 International Youth Day.

He noted that many youths were yet to benefit from the initiatives due to a gap between government efforts and youth participation.

“These opportunities are for their benefit. They are not for me as commissioner, nor for the governor. We are creating platforms and opportunities, and we want them to grab them,” Ogunlende said.

He highlighted key initiatives such as the Business Amplifier Clinic and the upcoming cohort of the Building Youth Academy as platforms designed to support young entrepreneurs and leaders.
