Shettima Departs Nigeria for UN Food Systems Summit in Ethiopia

Vice President Kashim Shettima has left Abuja for Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, to represent Nigeria at the Second United Nations Food Systems Summit, taking place from July 27 to 29.
In a post on his official X handle, Shettima announced that he would be joining other global leaders for high-level talks on transforming food systems and enhancing global cooperation on food security.
The summit will assess progress since its first edition in 2021 and focus on accelerating efforts toward resilient, inclusive, and climate-smart food systems.
During the event, Shettima is expected to:
Engage in sessions on improving the coffee value chain and sustainable agriculture
Attend ministerial roundtables, field trips, and networking sessions
Participate in meetings focused on public finance, trade, and responsible investment—key components for lasting agricultural reform across Africa.
