2027: I’ll support whoever emerges as ADC presidential candidate — Atiku

Former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar, has pledged to support whoever emerges as the presidential candidate of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Atiku made this known while speaking on the need for unity within the party, stressing that collective interest must take precedence over individual ambition if the opposition is to make meaningful impact.
According to him, building a strong and united front is essential for strengthening democracy and offering Nigerians a credible alternative in the next election cycle.
He emphasised that internal democracy and a transparent selection process will be key in producing a candidate capable of rallying broad national support.
The former presidential candidate also urged party members and stakeholders to remain focused and avoid divisions that could weaken the party’s chances.
Political analysts say the statement signals a strategic shift toward coalition-building and unity among opposition figures as preparations for the 2027 elections gradually intensify.
