2027: ‘A party controlling 31 states can’t fear ADC’ — Gov Sule
Nasarawa State Governor, Abdullahi Sule, has dismissed concerns that the African Democratic Congress (ADC) could pose a serious challenge to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in the 2027 general elections.
Speaking at a political gathering, the governor argued that the APC’s widespread control of state governments across the country demonstrates its strong grassroots presence and organisational capacity. He maintained that a party with such influence has little reason to feel threatened by an opposition platform that does not currently govern any state.
Sule noted that the ruling party remains focused on consolidating its achievements in governance and strengthening internal cohesion ahead of future electoral contests. He urged party members and supporters to remain confident and committed to promoting development-oriented policies.
The governor also emphasised the importance of strategic mobilisation and effective communication of government programmes, stating that these factors would play a crucial role in determining voter perception and support.
Political observers say the remarks reflect intensifying political rhetoric as parties begin positioning for the 2027 elections, with both ruling and opposition groups seeking to project strength and build momentum.
He concluded by encouraging stakeholders within the APC to prioritise unity and continue engaging citizens on issues affecting national development.
