The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, alongside his political allies, has launched a fresh attack on Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara, accusing his administration of cancelling over 10,000 youth employment opportunities in the state.
Wikeโs camp also alleged procedural and legal violations in the preparation and presentation of the 2026 Rivers State budget, claiming that due process was not followed and that key stakeholders were sidelined.
Supporters of Governor Fubara, however, have pushed back against the allegations, insisting that the administration is restructuring employment schemes to ensure transparency, sustainability, and fiscal responsibility, while maintaining that the budget process complied with constitutional requirements.
The latest exchange deepens the ongoing political rift in Rivers State, heightening tensions ahead of critical governance and budgetary decisions.
