Former Senate President Bukola Saraki has urged the leadership of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to stop ongoing legal battles and instead organise a fresh national convention to resolve the partyโ€™s internal crisis.

Saraki made the call while reacting to recent court rulings affecting the partyโ€™s leadership structure and internal disputes.

According to him, the PDP must accept the courtโ€™s decision and move quickly to rebuild unity within the party rather than prolong the crisis through continued litigation.

He warned that persistent court cases among party members could weaken the party ahead of future elections and damage its chances of presenting strong candidates.

Saraki advised the partyโ€™s leadership to prioritise reconciliation and focus on holding a new national convention where party officials can be properly elected in accordance with the partyโ€™s constitution.

The former Senate President noted that organising a transparent and credible convention would help restore confidence among party members and supporters across the country.

He added that resolving the leadership dispute quickly is necessary to ensure that the PDP remains competitive and prepared for upcoming political contests.

Saraki emphasised that unity and internal stability are crucial for the party if it hopes to regain political strength and maintain its position as a major opposition party in Nigeria.
