President Bola Tinubu on Monday held a closed-door meeting with Nigeriaโ€™s service chiefs at the Presidential Villa, Abuja, as part of ongoing efforts to address the nationโ€™s security challenges.

The meeting, which took place at the Aso Rock Villa, was attended by the Chief of Defence Staff, General Christopher Musa; the Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Taoreed Lagbaja; the Chief of Naval Staff, Vice Admiral Emmanuel Ogalla; and the Chief of Air Staff, Air Marshal Hassan Abubakar.

Although details of the deliberations were not disclosed, sources within the presidency said the discussions focused on the prevailing security situation across the country, including counter-terrorism operations, banditry, kidnapping, and other emerging threats.

The engagement is coming amid renewed concerns over security incidents in parts of the North-West, North-East, and other flashpoints nationwide, prompting intensified military and intelligence operations.

President Tinubu has repeatedly reaffirmed his administrationโ€™s commitment to restoring peace and strengthening national security, stressing the need for closer coordination among security agencies.

Officials indicated that further directives and strategic decisions may follow the meeting as the government continues to review measures aimed at safeguarding lives and property across the country.
