The Federal Government has unveiled a suite of digital tools designed to modernize Nigeriaโ€™s maritime sector, improve operational efficiency, and strengthen its position in global trade. The initiative is part of a broader push toward digital governance across critical national industries.

Officials say the new tools will streamline port operations, enhance monitoring of maritime traffic, and reduce bottlenecks that have long hampered the sector. By integrating advanced digital systems, the government aims to boost transparency, increase revenue generation, and attract foreign investment.

The FG emphasized that the digital transformation will also improve maritime security by enabling real-time tracking of vessels and cargo, reducing the risks associated with illegal activities at sea. Stakeholders believe this move will significantly enhance Nigeriaโ€™s competitiveness in international shipping and trade.
