𝐒𝐨𝐤𝐨𝐭𝐨 𝐀𝐏𝐂 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐭𝐡𝐬 𝐮𝐫𝐠𝐞 𝐠𝐨𝐯 𝐭𝐨 𝐬𝐞𝐞𝐤 𝐫𝐞-𝐞𝐥𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧

A coalition of young progressives under the aegis of the APC Youth Strategic Alliance for Continuity has called on the Governor of Sokoto State, Dr Ahmad Aliyu, to seek re-election in 2027, describing his administration as transformative, inclusive, and deeply committed to the welfare of the people.

The group made the call during a solidarity gathering held in Sokoto on Saturday, noting that Governor Aliyu’s performance in infrastructure, education, health, and youth empowerment had significantly improved the lives of residents across the state.

Speaking at the event, the coordinator of the alliance, Bashir Magaji, said the youths were impressed by the governor’s commitment to good governance and transparency.

“Governor Aliyu has demonstrated exceptional leadership by prioritising development projects that directly impact the people. From road rehabilitation to job creation and educational reforms, his government has brought visible progress to Sokoto,” Magaji stated.

He added that the coalition would begin grassroots mobilization to ensure the governor’s re-election bid is met with overwhelming support should he decide to contest again.

Another member of the group, Zainab Abubakar, commended the administration for empowering young people through entrepreneurship programmes and youth inclusion in governance.

“We believe Governor Aliyu represents continuity and stability for Sokoto. His re-election would consolidate the gains we’ve made in the past years,” she said.

The coalition urged party leaders and stakeholders within the All Progressives Congress (APC) to rally behind the governor, describing him as “the right man to sustain Sokoto’s growth trajectory.”
