The Federal High Court in Abuja has postponed further hearing on the suit filed by the pro-Wike faction of the Peoples Democratic Party, which seeks to void the partyโ€™s recent national convention in Ibadan. The case will now continue on January 14, 2026.

The suit challenges the legitimacy of decisions made at the convention and asks the court to nullify the exercise entirely. At Fridayโ€™s session, the judge ordered an adjournment to allow all parties more time to prepare.

Members aligned with former Rivers State Governor Nyesom Wike insist that the Ibadan convention did not follow proper procedures, while PDP leadership maintains that the exercise was valid and binding.

The court is expected to begin substantive hearing when proceedings resume next year.
