The Nigerian Air Force has carried out targeted air operations that dismantled terrorist bases in Katsina and halted a planned ISWAP/Boko Haram attack in Chibok, Borno, following intelligence-driven surveillance flights.
A statement released on Sunday by the NAF Director of Public Relations and Information, Air Commodore Ehimen Ejodame, confirmed the coordinated actions executed under Operation FANSAN YAMMA and Operation HADIN KAI.
Ejodame said the airstrikes in Katsina on November 27 hit the stronghold of a notorious terrorist commander responsible for multiple attacks and kidnappings across Kankara, Faskari and Malumfashi.
The first strike at about 6:30 a.m. destroyed key structures, while a second evening strike in Danfako, Faskari LGA, levelled logistics hubs and operational facilities, killing several fighters.
In the North-East, NAF aircraft supported troops of the 28 Task Force Brigade when ISWAP/Boko Haram launched a multi-directional assault on Chibok.
Four precision strikes were delivered on regrouping and retreating insurgents, inflicting significant losses and preventing them from reorganising.
Ejodame added that the combined airโground response helped protect residents and avert what could have been a major security setback. He noted that the operations underscore NAFโs commitment to sustained, accurate strikes aimed at weakening terrorist networks and restoring security in affected areas.
