The Inspector-General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, has assured that more women officers will be integrated into tactical, operational and leadership roles as the Nigeria Police Force marks 70 years of women policing.

Speaking at the anniversary event in Abuja, Egbetokun praised the contributions of female officers and reaffirmed the Force’s opposition to any form of discrimination, harassment or obstruction affecting their career growth.

He noted that women remain central to the identity and evolution of the Police Force, highlighting their strength, intellect, courage and commitment to service.

Egbetokun encouraged younger female officers to see themselves as shapers of a new policing culture built on professionalism, compassion, competence and bravery, stressing that they are not supporting figures but key pillars in the Force’s future.
