The Chairman of the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC), Dr Musa Aliyu (SAN), will deliver a keynote address on cybersecurity and illicit financial flows in Nigeria at the 13th Anniversary Lecture of Realnews Magazine, scheduled to hold in Lagos later this month.

The lecture, themed โ€œCybersecurity and Illicit Financial Flows in Nigeria: Impact on the Economy and Governance,โ€ is expected to bring together policymakers, academics, anti-corruption advocates, and journalists to explore solutions to the increasing challenges posed by digital financial crimes.

According to the organisers, the choice of Dr Aliyu as keynote speaker reflects his experience in law, governance, and anti-corruption policy, as well as ICPCโ€™s role in tackling financial improprieties across Nigeriaโ€™s public and private sectors.

Realnews Magazineโ€™s publisher, Maureen Chigbo, said the annual lecture series has become a platform for critical national dialogue on governance and development issues, with previous editions featuring top government officials, economists, and civil society leaders.

She noted that this yearโ€™s focus on cybersecurity was timely, given the surge in online fraud, money laundering, and cross-border financial transfers undermining Nigeriaโ€™s economy.

The event will also feature a panel discussion and interactive sessions aimed at strengthening institutional responses to cyber threats and improving transparency in financial systems.

The Realnews Anniversary Lecture has, since its inception, served as a forum for thought leadership and media engagement on national development, public accountability, and socio-economic reform.
