Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, has restated that delivering tangible democratic dividends and improving the welfare of the people remain central to his administrationโ€™s mission.

Speaking at the swearing-in ceremony of the 2025 Batch C National Youth Service Corps members deployed to the state, held at the Permanent Orientation Camp in Nonwa-Gbam Tai, the governor reaffirmed his commitment to supporting young people and strengthening NYSC operations in Rivers.

Fubara, represented by the Secretary to the State Government, Benibo Anabraba, said his administration would continue to honour its social contract with residents by prioritising youth welfare and creating opportunities for them to realise their potential.

He noted that since assuming office, his government had consistently backed initiatives aimed at improving the NYSC scheme, expanding youth empowerment, and fostering an enabling environment for corps members to thrive.

โ€œOur commitment to giving Rivers people the best of democratic dividends remains firm,โ€ he said. โ€œWe will continue to prioritise youth welfare by providing a conducive space for them to discover and develop their God-given talents. With God on our side, we will not lose focus on uplifting the quality of life of our youths.โ€

Fubara urged the newly sworn-in Corps members to conduct themselves with discipline, dedication, and a sense of responsibility throughout their service year.

The State NYSC Coordinator, Moses Oleghe, encouraged the Corps members to take full advantage of the orientation activities, particularly the Skill Acquisition and Entrepreneurship Development programme, security briefings, and other camp engagements.

He reminded them that the service year represented a commitment to national unity and personal development, urging them to embrace it wholeheartedly.
