A Federal High Court in Abuja has fixed February 26, 2026, for judgment in the trial of suspended Deputy Commissioner of Police, Abba Kyari, over alleged failure to declare assets as charged by the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency.

Justice Emeka Nwite set the date after parties adopted their final written addresses in the case, which forms part of a wider investigation into Kyariโ€™s alleged misconduct and financial dealings.

Kyari is accused of failing to fully disclose his assets, including cash, vehicles and property, as required under Nigeriaโ€™s financial transparency and anti-corruption regulations.

The NDLEA, which initiated the charges, argued that Kyariโ€™s alleged non-disclosure was deliberate and aimed at concealing suspected proceeds of unlawful activities.

The defence team however maintained that Kyari complied with all legal requirements, insisting that the charges were baseless and unsupported by evidence.

The case, which has drawn national attention due to Kyariโ€™s high-profile status within the police hierarchy, will be determined when the court delivers judgment on the scheduled date.
